Jesus Christ’s coming to earth is salvation’s beginning for mankind. It’s right and good that we celebrate Christmas! Though it’s true no one can mark the exact day on which Jesus was born, and some object that the season was once a pagan feast, it is still right to celebrate! Since we do not know the exact day, we don’t know that Christmas Day is not the right day! If pagans corrupted the season in times past, our holy rejoicing can reclaim it with praise to God now!
The ancient sages, the wise men from the East, are the ones who made the longest “Christmas trip,” geographically speaking. The fact that they are memorialized in the pages of God’s eternal Word should tell us something about how God values the efforts of people who make a “big thing out of Christmas.”
Let the wise men teach us wisdom. God has visited us from out of eternity. Set a course to “meet Christmas” by making a special visit yourself. You can start by calling on the Lord for a special Christmas-work in your heart and family.
