The world tries to intimidate us with intellectual arguments against faith in Christ. Society attempts to silence us with the “shame” of our refusal to surrender to the valueless pursuit of greedy pleasure. Living for Jesus is foolishness to those who are perishing in their sin. There is no compromise. The world rejects all but its own. Those born into the Kingdom of God find themselves at odds with a world that knows no king but their own selfish desires.
Our rejection of the world has to do with its standards, values, priorities and deeds. Our love for the world is based on the worth of each human being created in the image of God. We must reach our family and neighbors with God’s love. To do this we become “all things to all men” (1 Cor. 9:22) without caving to compromise. Jesus is our Lord. Let everyone know the glorious truth of His life and salvation.
