John sees a vision of the ever-expanding worship of Heaven around the throne of God. The four living creatures praise God’s holiness, and the twenty-four elders extol His creative power (Rev. 4:8, 11). Then they begin to sing a “new song” of praise to the Lamb (Rev. 5:9, 10). The angels of Heaven join in this new song of praise to the Lamb (Rev. 5:12). Ultimately, every creature joins in praise to God and the Lamb saying, “blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!” (Rev. 5:13).
Heaven anticipates God’s final victory. The Great Commission will be fulfilled. The redeemed from every tribe, tongue, people and nation will praise God and the Lamb around the throne. Hallelujah! In some unexplained way, “the prayers of the saints” played a part (Rev. 5:8). The redeemed learned to intercede, so that “His kingdom would come and His will would be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
What a revelation! God wins as we pray!
