The Bible is completely trustworthy and sufficient to answer anything we need to know for eternal salvation. It is also a sure source of practical wisdom concerning our relationships, morality, character, or conduct.
The Bible warns against either adding to or subtracting from its contents. Revelation 22:18 is a clear warning against adding to God’s Word. A classic study of the judgment for taking away from God’s Word is seen in Jeremiah 36:20–32. Wise is the one who says, “Add to or subtract from the Bible at your own risk.”
Though many books are inspiring, they can only reflect the complete and perfect order of divine revelation found in the Scriptures. A fog of confusion can arise if we develop a casually accepting or gullible attitude toward the writings of man. No book should diminish the power and authority of the Word of God.
Let’s make the Bible our foundational and most treasured resource!
